The major in science communication focuses on public understanding of science, technology, and the environment, as well as skills in effective and innovative communication of complex and controversial science issues. Courses in the major focus on practical, hands-on learning. They cover the dynamics of organizational and cultural communication, including conflict management, socialization, group dynamics, decision-making processes, multicultural/multinational workplaces, communication theory, and emerging technology. A major in science communication opens a wide range of career options.
