Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art - Painting

The Painting Area exposes students to a diverse range of media and approaches to creative problem solving. The area provides them with the discipline and professional skills to be successful visual artists, creative thinkers, designers, and entrepreneurs. Students are encouraged to develop strong painting and drawing skills, consider explorations of old and new forms of artmaking (representational, abstraction, 2D, 3D, and alternative materials and processes), and to develop independent, unique, personal forms of expression. Our facilities accommodate research in drawing, painting, mixed media, and experimental approaches including (but not limited to) acrylics, oils, encaustics, watercolor, gouache, paint sticks, cold wax, graphite, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, inks, dyes, and aqua dispersion pigments.

Academic Preparation. Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure youre ready for the rigors of college-level work. We recommend:
4 years of English
3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
2 years of the same foreign language
Transcripts from all secondary and postsecondary schools attended or are attending including diplomas examination results mark sheets and certificates Unofficial transcripts and other academic documents are acceptable for admission decision making Uploaded documents will show as received only AFTER an admissions counselor has completed the evaluation.

International Baccalaureate, grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level.
General Certificate of Education - A grade of A B or C in English from one of the five British-based examining boards undergraduate.
Successful completion of ESL level 112.
