1. IELTS test organizers

The IELTS exam is held periodically every year and co-owned by organizing units such as IDP, British Council along with the Cambridge English Language Assessment. IDP and British Council are the two units that control, organize the exam and are present worldwide, including in Vietnam. Regarding the exam questions, the unit responsible for the quality and implementation of the questions is the Cambridge Assessment Unit.

It can be seen that both IDP and BC are international standard IELTS test organizers in Vietnam. The question of where it is easier to take the IELTS test or which organizer to choose is not important, as there is no easier location. Some information suggests that taking the test at location A is easier than at location B. However, there is no basis to confirm this. No matter where you take the test, the questions are solely created by the Cambridge unit and the evaluation criteria and scoring are based on a common standard.

2. Experience in taking IELTS test

The IELTS is considered a major exam in each student's learning process. After researching where it is easier to take the IELTS, gaining experience when taking the IELTS is also very important. Hopefully, the experiences we are about to share below will help you reduce stress due to exam pressure.

2.1 Test location

Choosing an IELTS test location is very important because you need to arrive early to check in and prepare. You should prioritize choosing test locations near your living area, convenient for commuting, and not too time-consuming.

For those who choose to take the IELTS test with all 4 skills in one day, it is mandatory to split it into two sessions. One session cannot accommodate all 4 skills. Choosing a convenient test location near your home helps you save time. During the lunch break, you can easily return home to rest and regain your spirit for a better performance in the afternoon session.

2.2 Test date

For a long time, the IELTS test has been regularly held every weekend. Test locations are usually in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Before registering for the test, you will be provided with the test schedule for that month on the IDP and BC information pages. Based on that time, you can consider avoiding overlapping schedules to choose a suitable test date. At the same time, choose the exact test date to have the best preparation timeline for yourself.

2.3 Find practice tests before the real test

You should find sample tests to practice. This practice helps you review the knowledge you have learned and train yourself to get used to the time pressure. Doing practice tests helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses to consolidate knowledge and maximize your abilities in the real test.

About 6 months before the real test, you should look for institutions or units that organize practice tests to register and train yourself during this time. You don't need to take the test continuously for many days. Instead, register to take the test weekly or monthly, and between those times, focus on reviewing based on the mistakes you encountered in the previous practice test. This way, when it comes to the real test, you will feel comfortable, relaxed, and less pressured.

2.4 Register for the real test at least 2 months in advance

If you want to take the test in April, you need to register in February to ensure you have enough preparation time. If during the review period you feel insecure about your abilities, you can reschedule the test and inform the unit you registered with. However, you should not reschedule the test but try your best to achieve your goal. The more you postpone the test, the more your psychology will be affected.

2.5 Continuously and scientifically focus on reviewing until the test

You should make a long-term review plan and implement it seriously. Maintain studying according to the plan, such as 2-4-6 or 3-5-7, or many will study all week at a specific time frame. Adhering to the schedule helps you maintain your performance and always be ready. If you stop studying for about 1 to 2 weeks, your psychology will also be affected. During the review process, you should also take some time to rest to regain your spirit, avoiding continuous review that affects your mental health and well-being.
