From September 27, 2018, the Australian study abroad program without financial proof has been extended to most colleges, universities, vocational schools, and high schools in Australia. According to the Australian Department of Immigration, Vietnam has been upgraded from Assessment Level 3 to Assessment Level 2 (AL2). This ranking increase will result in: 

  • Exemption from financial proof when applying for a visa to study in Australia

  • Students are not required to provide international IELTS certificates

One advantage of studying in Australia is that international students can find a part-time job and work up to 48 hours/2 weeks during the semester, and unlimited time during summer vacation and holidays. Along with that, international students will have the opportunity to stay for a total of 6 years on a post-graduation work visa, including 5 years with the new applied policy and 1 year when studying in regional universities. This will extend post-study work rights from

  • 2 years to 4 years for select Bachelor degrees

  • 3 years to 5 years for select Master's degrees

  • 4 years to 6 years for all Doctoral degrees.

Existing settings for regional and remote Australia will also be maintained, and where relevant, will be eligible for the additional two years.
