Please note that applicants who have previously studied finance and/or will be undertaking a finance module(s) at Birkbeck will receive higher applications scores from the academic panel.
The awards are for:
- new undergraduate full-time students enrolling on the first year of one of the above listed programmes for the first time
- undergraduate students who have completed a Foundation Year at Birkbeck and will be enrolling on the first year of one of the above listed programmes for the first time.
Applicants must also meet the following criteria:
- qualify for Home fee status
- not already hold a degree or an equivalent level qualification
- be from a Black background.
Eligible groups include the following:
- Black - African
- Black - Caribbean
- Black - Other
- Mixed - White/Black Caribbean
- Mixed - White/Black African
- Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other)
Value of award
These cash bursaries will offer financial support towards living costs for new undergraduate students with a Home fee status.
Successful candidates will be awarded a £5,000 cash bursary in each year of one of the three-year undergraduate programmes.
