Humanities Student Awards

Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee within the Department of Humanities.

Recipients will be notified via e-mail. Committee selections are final, appeals will not be considered.

Typically given out in the Fall term.

To be considered for these awards, students must be a declared major (History and Philosophy) or minor (Classics, French, Spanish) in the award discipline no later than August 31 of the award year and returning for at least one more Fall term in a bachelor degree program at MacEwan (exceptions noted below).

CLASSICS
Classics Achievement Award:

• Recognition of achieving the highest GPA in senior Classics courses.

Classics Senior Student Award:

• Recognition of academic success and outstanding achievement in Classics or Latin.

HISTORY

Best History Essay:

• Recognition of writing the best History paper in senior History courses.

History Achievement Award:

• Recognition of achieving the highest GPA in senior History courses.

PHILOSOPHY
Achievement Award in Philosophy:

• Recognition of achieving the highest GPA in senior Philosophy courses.

Philosophy Senior Student Award:

• Recognition of academic success and outstanding achievement in Philosophy.

Disbursement Criteria

Must be enrolled.
Must be in good academic standing.
